Legal Associate/ Senior Associate (Dispute Resolution / Shipping) - Local Law Firm

Our client is an established local law firm in Singapore, recognised for its legal expertise and client-focused approach, especially within the disputes/ litigation practice.

Job Summary:

We are seeking Legal Associates/ Senior Associates with 1–6 years PQE to join our client's Dispute Resolution / Shipping practice. You will work closely with partners and colleagues to provide practical legal advice and effective representation on complex matters.

This role suits someone who is analytical, proactive and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and analysis, assess the merits of cases and develop legal strategies.
• Draft and review pleadings, affidavits, submissions, legal opinions and correspondence.
• Prepare for and participate in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations and settlement negotiations, as appropriate.
• Advise clients on legal issues, potential risks and available courses of action.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, experts and other stakeholders to progress matters efficiently.
• Manage case timelines and ensure compliance with applicable procedural requirements and deadlines.

Requirements:

• Singapore-qualified lawyers admitted to the Singapore Bar.
• 1–6 years PQE with experience in dispute resolution or shipping law; experience in either area will be considered.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
• Organised and proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound professional judgment and a commitment to client service, confidentiality and ethical practice.
