The client is a multinational manufacturing/B2B organisation, looking for a Legal and Compliance Manager to handle regional legal, compliance, and governance matters. This role reports to the CFO and partners closely with senior business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary legal advisor to senior management on M&A, legal, regulatory, and governance matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial and employment contracts
- Manage legal and compliance risks across cross-border operations
- Oversee corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and internal policies
- Handle disputes, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and external counsel
- Drive effective contract management and use of legal technology tools
Requirements
- A recognised law degree or common law qualification
- A minimum of 8PQE, with experience in a multinational, manufacturing, or B2B environment
- Strong background in M&A, contract law, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and legal risk management
- Proven experience handling cross-border matters and advising senior stakeholders
- Mandatory fluency in Mandarin and English (written and spoken) to draft and review related contracts
- Mandarin is required due to regional stakeholder management and document review
- Comfortable working with contract management systems, and legal technology tools
- Commercially minded, proactive, and able to balance legal risk with business objectives
