[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Tourism & Resort Management in the School of Business & Accountancy.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and deliver curriculum (including online courses) and assessments for full-time and part-time courses for students and adult learners.
- Supervise student projects and internships with industry partners.
- Counsel and mentor students to support their learning and personal development, provide education and career guidance, and coach them for competitions.
- Undertake academic-related administration and committee work, support outreach activities and study trips, and ad-hoc projects that support the school's mission.
- Plan, lead, manage and develop industry projects.
[What we are looking for]
- At least 5 years relevant work experience in the airline, travel or hospitality industry.
- Competent to plan, develop and teach modules including Revenue Management, Tourism Research & Analytics, Airlines & Travel Business and related areas including Sustainability in Tourism & Tourism Marketing.
- Extensive industry network to facilitate industry in curriculum.
- A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and mature learners.
- Ability to use innovative teaching and learning strategies to motivate learners.
- Conversant in the use of technology to facilitate teaching and learning.
