[What the role is]

Lecturer (Integrated & Smart Facility Management) / School of Engineering

[What you will be working on]

  • Deliver lessons to full-time diploma students and part-time adult learners, and undertake all related academic responsibilities.
  • Design, develop, and deliver curriculum, courseware, and e-learning modules for assigned full-time and part-time programmes.
  • Supervise and assess student projects and internships in collaboration with industry partners.
  • Apply relevant IT tools and multimedia platforms to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
  • Coach and mentor students in academic development, competitions, career guidance, and personal growth.
  • Undertake academic administration and committee work, and support outreach activities, community projects, and study trips (local and overseas).
  • Plan, lead, and contribute to projects with industry partners, including internships and capability development initiatives.

[What we are looking for]

  • Qualification in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Sciences, or a related Built Environment discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the facilities management sector or a sustainability consultancy environment.
  • Hands-on experience in the adoption or implementation of Smart Facilities Management, BIM for FM, Digital Twin, Building IoT, and data analytics for productivity, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
  • Good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of key building systems, particularly Fire Safety Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems, and security and surveillance systems in large industrial or commercial buildings (e.g. hospitals, data centres, or other critical facilities).
  • Relevant certifications will be an advantage, such as Fire Safety Manager (with at least 2 years appointment in a commercial building), Autodesk Revit Certified Professional/Associate, BIM Modelling/Management certification, Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP), or IT/programming certifications.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and teach youth effectively.
