Role Summary
The Learning Support Teacher provides support to students with learning differences through consultation with teachers, classroom push-in support, and small group or individual pull-out sessions. This role emphasizes
Learning Support Plans (LSPs) and collaborative teaching practices, without responsibility for formal IEP development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying and assessing students requiring learning support, following ICSs referral and RTI procedures.
- Create and update LSPs with accommodations to help students succeed.
- Provide Level 13 support through observation, push-in, and pull-out strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement accommodations and co-teach where appropriate.
- Track student progress and communicate with teachers and parents.
- Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment aligned with the ICS mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and valid teaching credential (exceptions may be considered by the Academic Board).
- Experience working with students who have learning needs.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
