Job Summary

  • Build, enhance, and operate mission-critical digital services and enterprise applications in a cloud-native environment.
  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient applications using AWS, Java, Spring Boot, and modern web technologies.
  • Take ownership of the full software lifecycle, from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Support application integrations through APIs, secure file transfer, and messaging technologies to enable reliable data exchange across systems and organizations.
  • Collaborate with product teams, stakeholders, vendors, and partner agencies to deliver high-quality digital solutions aligned with security, governance, and engineering best practices.
  • Drive operational excellence through DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, and AI-enabled software delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Delivery

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications and services using AWS, Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end technologies.
  • Deliver new features and enhancements while ensuring high standards of code quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to architecture, system design, technical reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Support full-stack development activities across backend services, APIs, integrations, and user-facing applications.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

  • Design and operate cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services, including API Gateway, serverless, and container-based architectures.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that meet operational and business requirements.
  • Support system reliability, observability, and operational readiness across production environments.

System Integration & Data Exchange

  • Develop and maintain integrations using RESTful APIs, secure file transfer protocols, and messaging technologies.
  • Ensure accurate and secure data exchange between internal systems, external partners, and third-party platforms.
  • Design and implement data mappings, transformations, and integration workflows.
  • Support event-driven and asynchronous processing using messaging platforms and queues.

Operations & DevSecOps

  • Operate applications in production, including deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and service recovery.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support continuous delivery practices.
  • Contribute to DevSecOps initiatives, security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and operational improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational effort through automation and platform enhancements.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Product Managers, stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver solutions end-to-end.
  • Participate in requirements discussions, technical planning, testing, and release activities.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and development practices to improve engineering productivity and delivery quality.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, technical mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

Required Skills

Software Engineering

  • Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot application development.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications or digital services.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, testing methodologies, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with modern front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, and Next.js.

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, EKS, or equivalent cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
  • AWS Associate certification or higher.

Integration & Data Technologies

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns.
  • Experience with secure file transfer (SFTP) and enterprise integration solutions.
  • Familiarity with messaging technologies such as AWS MQ, Amazon SQS, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with relational databases including PostgreSQL, Aurora, Oracle, or equivalent.

DevSecOps & Delivery

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and DevSecOps practices.
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI or equivalent automation platforms.
  • Understanding of application security, vulnerability management, and secure software delivery.

Professional Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in enterprise or large-scale environments.
  • AWS certification at Associate level or above.
  • Experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications and integration solutions.
  • Experience in DevSecOps, cloud platforms, and infrastructure
