Reporting Relationship
The Production Lead reports directly to the Operations Manager in Component Repair Services - Singapore.
Responsibilities
- The Production Lead is responsible for managing the production unit to ensure the optimal cost and delivery performance of the unit under his/her charge. Control and optimize use of all resources available to produce parts with the best turn time, best quality and lowest cost possible
- Plans day-to-day operations, assigns manpower, plans overtime, monitors/measures employee utilization/efficiency and works with employees to ensure key metrics are achieved
- Ensure that products are repaired or processed to the required specifications and governing job instructions and other technical data to meet quality compliance.
- Provide hands-on support to process parts and establish good standard work for key processes.
- Assist in establishing standard hours and track performance and productivity, efficiency and utilization to meet targets.
- Assist to plan manpower requirements and required training to maintain a skilled workforce to improve productivity and ensure that quality of parts repaired or coated are not compromised.
- Implement on-the-job training programs and schedule the required OJT activities to meet the training plan.
- Develop and review competency-based assessments.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve and arrest any quality problems and operations internal controls.
- Interface with the various business functions in problems solving and to achieve cell goals and company's objectives
- Ensure that safety and internal controls are followed when working towards production objectives.
- Continuously improve work methods and drive set up reduction and mistake-proofing and other lean initiatives. Formulate and lead continuous improvement projects as required.
- Demonstrate personal commitment to EH&S by meeting all EH&S legislation and regulations and driving EH&S compliance and surfacing/ correcting every unsafe situation
- Ensure that all production equipment is properly maintained according to the TPM plan and schedules.
- Liaise with Materials Department to ensure that adequate materials are made available to the shop to support production.
- Work closely with the Customer Service team to plan and execute schedules with customer priorities and requirements in mind to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Assist and has input in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
- Execute special projects as assigned.

Academic Qualifications And Working Experience
- Diploma or degree in Engineering Discipline
- At least 5 Years working experience preferably in an Aerospace MRO industry and 3 years in a similar role.
- Extensive hands-on working experience in a shop environment and managing a culturally diversified team.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve business goals
- Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills.
- Knowledge and implementation of lean manufacturing and drive continuous improvement
