Lead Piping Engineer (EPC Projects)
Position Overview
We are seeking a high-impact Lead Piping Engineer to direct and synchronize all piping engineering activities for major Oil & Gas EPC Projects. This is a leadership position responsible for the technical integrity of piping systems, from conceptual layouts and stress analysis to final commissioning. You will manage a dedicated design team, ensuring that every deliverable aligns with global safety standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee the entire pipingengineering lifecycle, providing expert guidance on complex layouts, materialselection strategies, and advanced stress analysis.
- Deliverable Excellence: Authorize and approve criticaldesign documents, including P&IDs, comprehensive piping layouts,isometrics, and accurate Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
- Interdisciplinary Integration: Serve as the primary pipinginterface for Process, Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical disciplines toensure a cohesive, clash-free facility design.
- Stress Analysis Oversight: Conduct and validate rigorouspiping stress analyses to guarantee system durability under various operating conditions and compliance with international codes.
- Vendor & Fabrication Management: Review technical bids, vendor documentation, and shop drawings to maintain quality control during the procurement and fabrication phases.
- Safety & Constructability: Play a key role in HAZOP, design reviews, and constructability assessments to mitigate risks and optimizesite execution.
- Lifecycle Support: Deliver technical leadership through construction, installation, and final plant start-up
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering ora relevant technical field.
- 8 to 12 years of specialized piping engineering experience in the Oil & Gas or EPC sector, with a proven track record in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Deep expertise in piping materials, design methodologies, and international codes such as ASME B31.3, API, and related standards.
- Advanced skills in industry-standardtools including CAESAR II for stress analysis and AVEVA E3D / PDMS or AutoCAD for 3D modeling.
- Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, solve complex engineering challenges, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
