Job Summary
Lead Optical Transceiver Firmware Engineer develops and maintains the embedded software for optical transceivers, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently. This role requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software, with responsibilities including designing, implementing, testing, and debugging firmware for these devices.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Firmware Development: Writing, debugging, and testing firmware for optical transceivers, often using C or C++.
- Hardware Integration: Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure the firmware works seamlessly with the transceiver's hardware.
- Testing and Validation: Thoroughly testing firmware to ensure it meets performance and reliability requirements.
- Problem Solving: Debugging and resolving issues with firmware and hardware integration.
- Performance Optimization: Optimizing firmware for speed, efficiency, and power consumption.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of firmware code and functionality.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree: Typically a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Relevant experience in firmware development, embedded systems, and optical transceivers is highly desirable.
- Master's Degree or Ph.D.: May be preferred or required for more senior positions.
