Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive manufacturing excellence within an aerospace engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and sustaining robust manufacturing processes, resolving complex technical issues, supporting production readiness, and driving continuous improvement across quality, delivery, cost, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing & Technical Leadership: Define manufacturing engineering and process requirements, make technical decisions within the assigned area, troubleshoot production and repair issues, and establish effective engineering standards and solutions.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure manufacturing activities comply with Health, Safety & Environmental requirements and product safety standards, promote Right First Time and zero-defect practices, support quality investigations, and manage relevant NADCAP accreditation requirements.
  • Production Readiness & Delivery: Develop and deploy manufacturing processes and methods using appropriate engineering and continuous improvement methodologies, manage FAIR/MSA activities and process changes, and ensure production readiness for new capabilities and manufacturing methods.
  • Continuous Improvement & Capability Development: Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, productivity, cost, quality, delivery rate and lead time develop data-driven process capability methods and maintain accurate Production Technical Packages, including technical instructions, programmes and tooling requirements.

Skills /Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within aerospace, precision engineering, MRO or another highly regulated engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process capability, technical problem-solving and quality improvement methodologies, with exposure to tools such as SPS, DMAIC, Systems Engineering, FAIR and MSA advantageous.
  • Experience supporting production, component repair, tooling/equipment, process changes, quality investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholdermanagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide technicalguidance and work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
