Job Summary

The Lead Loss Prevention Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all technical safety and loss prevention engineering activities for offshore/onshore Oil & Gas projects. The role ensures compliance with international standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements to minimize operational risks, safeguard personnel, assets, and the environment throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all Loss Prevention and Technical Safety engineering activities during FEED, EPC, EPCIC, and detailed engineering phases
  • Prepare and review safety deliverables including Fire & Gas Mapping, ESD Philosophy, Hazardous Area Classification, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL studies, QRA, FERA, and Escape, Evacuation & Rescue Analysis (EERA)
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety requirements are properly integrated into engineering designs
  • Interface with clients, classification societies, regulatory authorities, and third-party consultants on technical safety matters
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support project execution schedules and deliverables
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and safety workshops
  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as API, NFPA, IEC, ISO, and local regulatory requirements
  • Support commissioning, startup, and operational safety reviews when required

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Loss Prevention / Technical Safety Engineering within Oil & Gas, FPSO, Offshore, or Petrochemical industries
  • Strong experience in FEED and EPC/EPCIC project execution
  • Hands-on experience conducting HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, QRA, FERA, and safety studies
  • Familiarity with offshore safety regulations and international engineering standards
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead engineering teams and manage multiple project interfaces
