Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy development to improve the overall quality of curriculum, through market scans, innovations, and new initiatives:
  • Collaborate with the research team to conduct benchmarking and market scans to identify innovative opportunities.
  • Identify areas for improvement to keep the curriculum relevant and competitive.
  • Define curriculum strategy and design frameworks to achieve expected education outcomes from curriculum resources and other educational materials.
  • Lead needs assessment on quality of curriculum:
  • Articulate frameworks and processes to guide review and enhancement of curriculum.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of needs assessment surveys on child learning outcomes, teaching staff feedback, and other education quality related activities.
  • Assess current state of curriculum based on stakeholder feedback and market benchmarks to identify gaps for review, addition, or removal.
  • Develop and direct initiatives to improve the overall quality of curriculum.
  • Accountable for development and review of curriculum, trainings, and educational resources for curricula:
  • Manage all operational aspects of curriculum development, including budget management and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with leaders from various sub-domains to integrate curriculum materials, educational resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Ensure integration of different sub-domains results in a high-quality, age-appropriate, and holistic curriculum, aligned with NFCs desired child outcomes and developmental goals.
  • Direct curriculum refinement activities based on national standards and frameworks (e.g. Early Years Development Framework, Nurturing Early Learners Framework, Singapore Pre-School Accreditation Framework) and results from gap analyses.
  • Plan and develop a comprehensive First-Year Teacher training roadmap/programme.
  • Develop publications (e.g., storybooks, songs) as necessary.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of curriculum implementation through pilots, trainings, and other initiatives:
  • Design and oversee pilot, prototype, or implementation of curriculum initiatives in centres.
  • Create resource allocation plans, such as deployment of team to conduct leader and new teacher training.
  • Oversee training activities for Centre Leaders and First-Year Teachers to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
  • Improve curriculum fidelity and consistency through monitoring and evaluation activities:
  • Oversee centre visit activities to identify implementation gaps and assess curriculum effectiveness. This includes:
  • Coordinating centre visit activities and agendas for team members throughout the year.
  • Reviewing centre visit reports to document areas for improvement within the curriculum.
  • Guide team to recommend improvements to structures and processes for curriculum development, review, and implementation, focusing on achieving significant organisational strategic goals.
  • Build collaborative and professional partnerships with centres and other internal and external stakeholders:
  • Lead collaboration meetings with representatives from the Business Unit(s) to gather feedback on curriculum, resources, and support initiatives.
  • Provide advice on curriculum implementation strategies for centres.
  • Build trusting relationships to support team KPIs and strategic outcomes.
  • Foster professional partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource sharing.

Job Requirements

  • Master in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) with relevant infant/toddler certifications
  • ACTA or ACLP certificate holders are preferred
  • Strong pedagogical and curriculum knowledge with at least 15 years of experience in the early childhood sector; with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in overseeing infant care centres and in curriculum development
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and coach early childhood leaders and teacher
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Deep interest in developments of ECCE trends and d emonstrated ability to translate curriculum theories into practice
  • Motivated individual with willingness to take initiative
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
