Job Description

The Head of Growth and Insights Department is a pivotal leadership role responsible for unearthing business opportunities and designing growth strategies through advanced data analytics. This individual will take a hands-on approach to analyzing large and complex datasets, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities, and translating these insights into actionable business propositions. The role also involves developing and refining product positioning, repurchase and retention strategies by leveraging both internal and external data sources, desktop research, and customer research to ensure align with market needs. This role will lead and mentor a high-performing team and be adept at stakeholder management and persuasive communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Growth and Insights Department, managing, coaching, and inspiring a team of 2 direct reports.
  • Perform deep, hands-on analysis of data using advanced analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
  • Identify business trends, customer behavior patterns, and emerging issues or opportunities within vast datasets.
  • Translate complex data findings into compelling business propositions, actionable recommendations, and meaningful strategies.
  • Support campaign owners tooptimize repurchase and retention campaigns based on data-driven insights to drive customer loyalty and increase revenue.
  • Develop and refine product positioning, repurchase and retention strategies using a combination of internal analytics, external data, market and desktop research, and direct customer research.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, distribution, customer experience (customer research), and executive teams to align insights and strategies to business objectives.
  • Present analysis and proposals clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making at all levels.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and innovation within the department.
  • Monitor campaign performance, report on key metrics, and refine strategies as necessary to maximize ROI.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging analytics technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in data analytics, business intelligence, or growth strategy roles.
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with advanced analytics tools (such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing high-performing teams.
  • Track record of designing and managing customer lifecycle, repurchase, or retention campaigns.
  • Experience in product positioning and conducting market, desktop, and customer research.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability.
