Meta seeks a highly experienced commercial transactions lawyer who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and can drive execution of contracts to support the network infrastructure team in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

In this role, you will handle negotiations for the build out and operation of infrastructure that is critical to Meta's services, business and AI aspirations. You will work closely with legal colleagues from various areas, tax, finance, and other teams to ensure our contracts are well-calibrated across relevant areas of risk and are reflective of the company's policies and risk tolerance.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements in support of the expansion of Meta's network infrastructure, including joint build agreements and supply contracts for the construction of fiber-optic cable systems, dark fiber leases and IRUs, and colocation agreements
  • Use AI tools to enhance your efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with partner teams (e.g., Finance, Tax, Compliance) and external counsel to ensure contracts meet cross-functional organizational requirements while meeting business timing and commercial needs
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key clients and cross-functional partners
  • Provide well-calibrated, solid and practical business and legal advice

Minimum Qualifications

  • Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
  • 5+ years of experience structuring, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, as in-house or external counsel
  • Demonstrated drafting and negotiation skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking
  • Diligent, well organized and experience managing numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
  • Experience communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, collaborators and clients at different levels, and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within an AI-native environment and/or leveraging AI-supported workflows
  • Experience advising on telecom laws and regulation
  • Telecom network terrestrial and subsea cable commercial transactional experience
