Lead AI Engineer/Tech Lead (Operations & Experiential Innovation)

We are seeking a hands-on and forward-thinking Lead AI Engineer / Tech Lead to drive Dezign Format's transformation into an AI-enabled organisation across both operations and experiential delivery.

You will play a key role in shaping the company's technological direction, with the opportunity to build and lead your own in-house AI and engineering team over time and develop proprietary systems that create long-term competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

1. AI for Operations (Core Business Transformation)

• Lead development of internal AI systems (e.g., smart warehouse/asset tracking, AI-assisted technical drawing automation)

• Identify and implement AI-driven process improvements across production, logistics, and project management

• Drive efficiency, cost reduction, and scalable growth without proportional headcount increase

2. AI for Experiential & Revenue Growth

• Develop AI-powered solutions for exhibitions and events (interactive experiences, real-time audience analytics, responsive environments)

• Build reusable platforms and modules for cross-project deployment

• Identify opportunities to productise experiential technologies and drive new revenue streams

3. Technology Strategy & Architecture

• Execute AI and digital roadmap aligned with business goals

• Design scalable architecture for both internal and client-facing systems

• Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner decisions for emerging technologies

4. Team Growth & Ownership

• Own end-to-end technical delivery from concept to deployment

• Support hiring and development of the AI/engineering team

• Drive rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Master's in a relevant field such as: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science etc.

• Strong hands-on experience in software engineering, AI/ML, computer vision, or automation systems

• Experience building and deploying systems or products from scratch

• Comfortable taking ownership and growing into a leadership role as the team expands

• Good communication skills to work with non-technical stakeholders across operations and project teams

• Passion for applying AI to operations and real-world experiences
