Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling & Oversight: Plan, schedule, and monitor lathe operations to meet deadlines while maximizing efficiency.
- Technical Operations: Program set up, and operate CNC lathes.
- Quality Control: Ensure parts comply with blueprints and GD&T specifications, inspecting finished parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers).
- Leadership & Mentoring: Train, coach, and direct machinists on best practices, safety, and machine troubleshooting.
- Tooling & Maintenance: Select and evaluate tooling, troubleshoot machine breakdowns, and perform routine maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5+ years of CNC lathe operation, setup, and programming experience, often with a job shop background.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in reading blueprints, shop math, and G&M code programming.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, assign work, and improve productivity.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical training preferred.
