About Our Client
Our Client is a leading port and logistics operator in Singapore, managing one of the world's busiest container terminals. They are seeking Lashing Specialists to ensure the safe and compliant securing of containers aboard vessels in accordance with international maritime standards.
Role Overview
As a Lashing Specialist, you will be responsible for the securing, lashing, and unlashing of ISO containers on vessels berthed at the terminal. You will work at heights on vessel decks and within holds, using lashing bars, turnbuckles, and twist locks in compliance with vessel stowage plans and port authority regulations. This role requires a high degree of physical fitness, attention to detail, and a strong safety orientation.
Key Responsibilities
. Perform lashing and unlashing of containers on vessels using approved equipment including lashing bars, turnbuckles, bridge fittings, and twist locks
. Read and interpret vessel stowage plans and lashing patterns as directed by the lashing supervisor
. Ensure all containers are secured in full compliance with maritime lashing standards and port authority regulations
. Inspect lashing equipment before and after use and report any damaged or non-compliant equipment immediately
. Work at heights on vessel decks and in vessel holds with strict adherence to working-at-heights safety protocols
. Coordinate with quay crane operators, vessel officers, and lashing supervisors to maintain safe and efficient vessel operations
. Complete lashing completion records and handover documentation accurately and on time
. Attend toolbox meetings and safety briefings prior to each shift
Requirements
. Prior experience in container lashing at a port terminal or aboard a container vessel preferred
. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces -relevant certifications are an advantage
. Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nightshifts, weekends, and public holidays
. Physically fit with good upper body strength and endurance for manual handling tasks
. Strong safety awareness and ability to follow detailed procedural and supervisory instructions
. Team-oriented with a disciplined, reliable approach to shift-based work
. Able to understand basic written and verbal instructions in English
