Key Responsibilities
1. Design Leadership
- Spearhead concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and project presentations.
- Integrate plant species, water-sensitive urban design principles, and climate-resilient materials into landscape solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with planting standards, soil health guidelines, and regulatory requirements such as ABC Waters and NParks.
2. Project & Technical Delivery
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordinate with stakeholders throughout all project phases to uphold design integrity and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor implementation and address technical issues.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of sustainable design workflows and documentation standards.
3. Client Engagement & Advocacy
- Participate in client meetings and assist in presenting proposals for new projects.
- Champion the ecological, social, and economic benefits of sustainable landscape design.
4. Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Guide and mentor junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Share expertise in ecological detailing and sustainable construction practices.
5. Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake other tasks as needed to support project and organizational objectives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture, with a passion for ecological and sustainable design.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in landscape design and project management, preferably with a focus on green and sustainable projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to independently manage multiple projects from concept through completion.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM tools (e.g., Revit), SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Freehand sketching and visual storytelling capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, consultants, and team members.
- Possesses a valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Willing to travel for site visits, meetings, and project coordination.
