Laboratory Technician / Research Laboratory Support
We are looking for a hands-on laboratory professional to support product research, sample management, analytical testing, and laboratory operations in a fast-paced research environment. This role supports laboratory teams across sample preparation, testing coordination, equipment upkeep, documentation, inventory control, and selected consumer study activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the pull-out, storage, preparation and submission of samples and raw materials for stability and technical testing.
- Support sample preparation and batch making activities in research laboratories, including raw material handling, equipment setup, product handling and data recording.
- Perform or support analytical and laboratory testing using relevant methods and instruments, including routine result analysis and reporting.
- Review and maintain laboratory data and records in applicable systems, and escalate out-of-specification results within required timelines.
- Coordinate laboratory inventory, consumables, chemicals and reagents, including registration, procurement, stock monitoring and disposal.
- Support equipment scheduling, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing, while maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain laboratory safety, housekeeping and audit readiness standards in accordance with applicable procedures and requirements.
- Provide logistics and operational support for selected consumer or research studies, including sample, survey and data collection activities.
- Provide ad hoc support to cross-functional laboratory and research teams as required.
Requirements
- Diploma, Higher Nitec or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Laboratory Technology or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in laboratory operations, analytical testing, sample handling or research support is preferred.
- Experience with laboratory instruments or techniques such as HPLC, gas chromatography, auto-titration, pH, viscosity or spectrophotometry is an advantage.
- Comfortable working with laboratory documentation, data systems, inventory processes and standard operating procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, good time management and the ability to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with a hands-on attitude and willingness to support different laboratory and research activities.
Preferred Experiences
- Experience supporting product research laboratories, consumer studies, stability testing, or analytical laboratory operations in a regulated or structured environment will be viewed favourably.
