Operate, maintain, and support metal additive manufacturing processes, including machine setup, production monitoring, powder handling, material characterization, equipment maintenance, and lab 5S compliance to ensure consistent build quality and safety. Main duties include:
Machine operation, setup, post-processing. Operate and maintain LPBF machines, including setup, monitoring, data recording, and basic post-processing to ensure safe and consistent build quality.
Powder handling and material management. Handle and maintain metal powders with full traceability, including sieving, quality checks, and safe storage in compliance with HSE procedures.
Process & material characterisation. Conduct material testing and characterization, including density checks, metallography, tensile testing, powder analysis, and heat treatment of LPBF parts with proper documentation.
Routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Manage LPBF machine maintenance and vendor coordination, including routine servicing, preventive maintenance scheduling, purchase order processing, documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and configuration standards.
5S and lab housekeeping. Maintain a safe and efficient lab environment through 5S practices, regular cleaning, organisation, and support of housekeeping audits.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Engineering Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
Preferred (for Senior Laboratory Officer): At least 3 years of relevant experience in operating metal AM equipment or production equipment such as CNC machines, semiconductor tools, or automated lines under established work instructions, while monitoring process parameters, consumables, calibrations, performing basic in-process checks, and completing production or quality logs with good discipline and applying 5S and housekeeping standards to keep work areas organised, clean, and audit-ready.
