Job Scope
The Client operates a specialized research and development facility focused on advanced atmospheric and chemical processing. They manage complex, industrial environments that require precise control over volatile materials and high-vacuum architectures
Core Responsibilities
- Specify, install, and provide ongoing maintenance for infrastructure supporting specialized processing environments.
- Oversee systems designed for the safe handling and storage of toxic gases and volatile substances.
- Build and maintain vacuum-based equipment, ensuring the peak performance of pumps, scrubbing systems, piping, and pressure measurement tools.
- Conduct operational tests and fault isolation on intricate hardware to identify and remedy malfunctions.
- Use scripting or programming to link equipment through control systems, enabling both manual and automated operations.
- Execute controlled processing experiments and support engineering teams in the design, construction, and calibration of new equipment.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source cost-effective hardware (MFCs, valves, safety systems) while ensuring strict adherence to local safety and ventilation regulations.
- Provide development support through documentation and procurement, coordinating with international engineering teams.
Qualifications
- More than 3 years in a design or development role within a chemical or plasma processing environment.
- Strong background in electro-mechanical problem-solving and the operation of vacuum process instrumentation, including leak checking and toxic gas monitoring.
- Comprehensive understanding of lab requirements regarding exhaust, ventilation, and cooling water systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering field is strongly preferred.
