Lab Assistant Wanted: Keep the Lab Running Behind Singapore s Deep-Tech Founders

Are you an experienced lab professional who enjoys helping people turn ideas into working prototypes Join National GRIP Labs, a shared facility supporting deep-tech startup founders from across Singapore's universities and research institutes.

We're seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our facility at the i3 building. You'll help maintain a safe, well-organized space where teams working across different disciplines can build, test, and iterate.

The Opportunity

This is a flexible, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable in a shared lab or makerspace. You'll support founders using the space while helping keep equipment, tools, and workflows running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Support daily lab and makerspace operations, including workspace readiness, equipment checks, and inventory.
• Help founders access and use shared tools and equipment safely.
• Provide practical support with fabrication tools such as CNC machines, 3D printers, and soldering equipment.
• Assist with user onboarding, equipment orientations, and safety procedures.
• Track supplies, flag maintenance needs, and help resolve day-to-day operational issues.

Who We're Looking For

• A bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• At least five years of experience in a makerspace, fabrication lab, research lab, or similar environment.
• Hands-on familiarity with CNC machines, 3D printers, soldering, and basic workshop tools.
• Good judgment around equipment use and safety in a shared space.
• An organized, approachable person who enjoys helping others solve practical problems.
