ViewQwest is a Singapore-headquartered service provider delivering connectivity, managed network, and security services across Southeast Asia. Our Managed Services team supports enterprise customers in sectors including retail, hospitality, healthcare, government, and financial services, managing distributed network environments with hundreds to thousands of devices across the region.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Level 2 Network Engineer to join our Managed Services team, serving as a key technical escalation point. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with Level 1 Support to resolve escalated incidents and problems, tackle complex network and firewall issues, and support infrastructure changes and technology refresh initiatives. You'll also play an important role in building and maintaining a structured, documentation-driven operations culture.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving in real-world environments. You should bring solid, practical troubleshooting experience, not just configuration knowledge; and be confident diagnosing and resolving routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues in a fast-paced setting. A methodical, analytical mindset and the ability to perform under pressure will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

Network Troubleshooting & Support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues across routing, switching, firewall, wireless, FTTx, SD-WAN, and SASE environments
  • Diagnose LAN/WAN connectivity issues using structured troubleshooting methods
  • Engage vendor support (TAC) and collaborate with L3 teams to drive resolution within SLA
  • Proactively monitor alerts and prevent customer impact
  • Provide break-fix support for critical systems across multiple industries

Network Infrastructure Management

  • Implement and support multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Huawei, Arista)
  • Manage firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cato) and wireless networks
  • Perform upgrades, patching, and configuration optimisation
  • Support SD-WAN/SASE and enterprise network deployments

Service Management & Change Management

  • Manage incidents and changes via Jira Service Management with SLA compliance
  • Plan and execute network changes with proper risk and rollback procedures
  • Perform RCA for major/repeat incidents and drive preventive actions

Documentation & Process Discipline

  • Maintain accurate documentation (runbooks, SOPs, KB articles in Confluence)
  • Keep network inventory and topology up to date
  • Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

Experience

  • 3+ years in network operations (ISP, MSP, or enterprise NOC)
  • Proven hands-on troubleshooting in live environments
  • Experience in SLA-driven or 24/7 support environments

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, STP, MPLS
  • Hands-on with firewalls (min. 2: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cato)
  • Experience with enterprise routing/switching (min. 2 vendors)
  • Familiar with wireless, FTTx, and monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, SolarWinds, Wireshark)

Certifications

  • At least one: CCNP, PCNSE/PCNSA, Fortinet NSE4+, HCIP, Aruba ACSA/ACSP
  • CCNA alone not sufficient without equivalent hands-on experience
  • ITIL is a plus

Process & Soft Skills

  • Strong documentation skills (RCA, runbooks, incident reports)
  • Structured, disciplined troubleshooting approach
  • Clear communication and ownership mindset
