Overview
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Project Manager to oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of commercial kitchen and cafeteria fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing kitchen installations, understanding of MEP coordination, and the ability to interpret and produce basic technical drawings. This role requires close collaboration with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end kitchen and cafeteria fit-out projects, from concept design to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, interior designers, and MEP consultants to ensure seamless integration of kitchen systems within overall building design.
- Supervise site activities including equipment installation, mechanical/electrical connections, and finishes, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare and review layout plans, equipment schedules, and technical submissions.
- Perform basic drafting and mark-ups in AutoCAD or equivalent software for coordination and design development.
- Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and identify potential risks or delays with mitigation actions.
- Manage project budgets, procurement schedules, and subcontractor deliverables.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks during installation and final handover.
- Ensure adherence to local authority regulations (e.g. NEA, SCDF, BCA) for kitchen ventilation, grease traps, and exhaust systems.
- Support tender preparation, cost estimation, and client presentations when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in commercial kitchen or cafeteria fit-out projects.
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, exhaust/ventilation systems, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (basic drafting skills required).
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently.
- Familiarity with local building codes and kitchen safety standards preferred.
Desirable
- Experience with hospitality, institutional, or F&B facilities (e.g. hotels, canteens, central kitchens).
- Familiarity with BIM coordination or Revit is an advantage.
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred but not essential.
