Job Summary
We are seeking a Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to establish and lead our kitchen operations from inception. This founding role offers the opportunity to design team dynamics, operational systems, and quality standards that will drive Flatty Wap's success at its first location and future expansions.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end kitchen operations including food preparation, service delivery, quality assurance, and cleanliness to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to build a cohesive, motivated, and high-performing team
- Manage and maintain the recipe bible, food cost controls, and ordering systems to optimize operational efficiency and profitability
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across every service to uphold brand standards
- Collaborate directly with the founders to refine and execute the menu, incorporating feedback and innovation
- Design and conduct comprehensive pre-opening training programs to prepare the team for launch day readiness
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing kitchen operations or leading fast casual/high-volume food and beverage environments
- Proven ability to foster team growth and positive workplace culture through supportive leadership rather than authoritative pressure
- Strong skills in food cost management, operational systems, and staff training
- Availability to commence employment before June 2026
