Kitchen Helper

This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Kitchen Helper.

If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE secondary school located in Fernvale .

Contract Period: from 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.

Option to Extend: for a further period of one (1) year from 01 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours :

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 3:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break (lunch hour will not be paid).
• Fridays: 7:30am to 2:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break (lunch hour will not be paid).
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
• Service is also required for the whole month of November and December.

The services required are set out as the follows:

• Assisting the Food and Consumer Education (FCE) teachers to prepare day-to-day or whenever necessary, the ingredients required for FCE lessons.
• Receiving the food orders and storing the ingredients appropriately in the labs.
• Contacting the grocer whenever the food orders delivered has missing items or the ingredients are not fresh. To request for an exchange or replacement of ingredients, if needed.
• Cutting and preparing specific portions of the ingredients for cooking according to the recipe given by the teachers before the start of FCE lessons.
• Advising teachers should there be insufficient ingredients for preparation lessons.
• Preparing food order list.
• In-charge of the day-to-day cleanliness of all the cookery labs in school which include the following duties:

1. Sweeping and mopping the floor.
2. Washing of utensils.
3. Cleaning of kitchen equipment and sink.
4. Cleaning of workbenches.
5. Clearing of food in the refrigerator and cleaning the refrigerators.
6. Washing of rags using the washing machine.

• Performing stock-taking duties of consumables such as detergents.
• Any other duties assigned by FCE teachers, Principle, Vice-Principles and Key Personnel.

Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Preferably have a PSLE Certification.
• Preferably have 2 years of experience as a kitchen helper in a cookery lab in MOE school environment.
