- Assisting the Food and Consumer Education (FCE) teachers to prepare day-to-day or whenever necessary, the ingredients required for FCE lessons.
- Receiving the food orders and storing the ingredients appropriately in the labs.
- Contacting the grocer whenever the food orders delivered has missing items or the ingredients are not fresh. To request for an exchange or replacement of ingredients, if needed.
- Cutting and preparing specific portions of the ingredients for cooking according to the recipe given by the teachers before the start of FCE lessons.
- Advising teachers should there be insufficient ingredients for preparation of lessons.
- Preparing food order list.
- In-charge of the day-to-day cleanliness of all the cookery labs in school which include the following duties:
. sweeping and mopping the floor
. washing of utensils
. cleaning of kitchen equipment and sink
. cleaning of workbenches
. clearing of food in the refrigerators and cleaning the refrigerators
. washing of rags using the washing machine
8. Performing stock-taking duties of consumables such as detergents.
9. Any other duties assigned by FCE teachers, Principal, Vice-Principals and Key Personnel.
Requirement :
- Preferably have a PSLE certification
- Preferably have 2 years of experience as kitchen helper in cookery lab in MOE schools
