Job Summary

You will assist chefs in preparing meals by washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients while maintaining hygiene, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with food preparation and meal production to meet scheduled timelines
• Wash, cut, peel, portion, and prepare ingredients following recipes and portion standards
• Maintain food hygiene, safety, and quality standards throughout food handling processes
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, workstations, and equipment to ensure a safe environment
• Check food labels, quantities, and temperatures to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Minimize food wastage by monitoring supplies and reporting shortages or equipment issues promptly
• Collaborate with team members to complete meal production efficiently and on time
• Follow company safety and security procedures to maintain a safe workplace

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Basic kitchen or food preparation experience
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
• Responsible and punctual work ethic
• Willingness to learn and adhere to company procedures
• Food Hygiene Certificate is an advantage
