Kitchen Assistants support a wide range of tasks, adapting to the immediate needs of Cooks and Waitstaff. Their core duties and responsibilities typically include:
Food Preparation
Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables
Assisting with basic cooking tasks such as mixing, portioning, or plating
Preparing ingredients and ensuring they are readily available for chefs
Cleaning and Maintenance (Kitchen & Facilities)
Keeping workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment clean and sanitized
Washing dishes, pots, and pans promptly
Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards
Cleaning and maintaining the office, waiting area, and toilets to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff and guests
Stocking and Organization
Receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies
Monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages
Ensure condiments and table supplies are replenished regularly
Support for Service Staff
Assist in packing food for takeaway customers
General Assistance
Disposing of waste and recycling appropriately
Performing routine tasks to keep the kitchen and facility running smoothly
Supporting the team with any ad hoc duties as required
