This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Kitchen Assistant.
If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE secondary school located in Upper Bukit Timah Road.
Contract Period: from 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.
Option to Extend: for a further periodfrom 01 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours :
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:00am to 2:30pm, inclusive of 1 hr lunch break.
- Exam Periods: May be required to stay till 6:00pm, inclusive of 1 hr lunch break.
- Tentative exam schedule (subject to changes, upon school's request)
- June Holidays Week 1-2
- Term 2 Week 3 to 6
- Term 3 Week 6 to 9
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
The services required are set out as the follows:
Food Laboratory Duties:
- Maintain the safety, order and cleanliness of food laboratories, preparation rooms, utensils and equipment.
- Prepare ingredients for student's practical lessons.
- Assist teachers to perform hands-on demonstration for students when necessary.
- Assist teachers to maintain classroom discipline during practical lessons.
- Update and keep stock on budget for food ingredients to ensure budget is adequately utilised.
- Compile and place food order list based on lesson recipes and restock necessary supplies with school-approved food suppliers in a timely manner.
- Perform inventory check for Food Laboratories when called upon.
- Assist in arrangement and supervision of cooker hob and oven servicing and repair.
- Assist teacher in filing, maintaining a repository of worksheets & test papers, and provide clear labelling for equipment and tools storage.
- Support school activities outside curriculum time as assigned by the school.
- Any ad-hoc duties instructed by School leaders and teacher-in-charge.
Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- PSLE Certificate or equivalent (Relevant supporting documents such as qualification certificates are required to be submitted, together with the CV.)
- Able to read, write and understand food terms and instruction manuals in English.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Familiar with kitchen appliances and general kitchen safety.
- Should minimally have good knowledge of food ingredients, food preparation skills, food safety and food handling.
- Has experience working on food preparation in school, a commercial or training kitchen preferably 3 years or more.
- Having prior experience working in a school kitchen would be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word and powerpoint etc.
