Kitchen Assistant x1

$12-$12.50/hour, approx. $1,560-$1,625/month

20-month contract (no work on Nov and Dec both years)

January 2027 - December 2028

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-1:00pm, inclusive of a 15-minute break
Flexible hours may apply depending on school needs.

Monday-Friday no Saturdays, Sundays or gazetted public holidays

Job Responsibilities

Clean and maintain school kitchens, preparation areas, stoves, work surfaces and refrigerators.
Receive and check grocery deliveries against orders and receipts.
Organise and store groceries appropriately.
Prepare and portion ingredients and equipment for practical lessons.
Conduct stocktaking and ensure equipment is returned, cleaned and properly stored.
Assist with accounting for and securing sharp equipment such as knives and peelers.
Organise kitchen equipment and maintain cupboards in good order.
Identify faulty equipment and report items requiring repair or replacement.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Meticulous and organised with good attention to detail.
Able to multitask and work independently.
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Good team player.
