The Key Account Manager is the overall responsible and coordinating contact person towards the client and reports to Area Business Development Manager. It is the KAM's responsibility to protect and build business with the customer in cooperation with other Account Team Members and the Global Business Development unit. It is further the responsibility of the KAM to live the DNV values and, being prepared to represent and forward the DNV view on quality and integrity issues.
Job Purpose:
The Key Account Manager is responsible for growing DNV's presence in the world's leading maritime hub. The role focuses on expanding business with shipowners, ship managers, designers, financial institutions, charterers and technology providers based in Singapore, while supporting opportunities across the wider Southeast Asia Pacific & India region. The Key Account Manager plays a key role in promoting DNV's classification, statutory, digital and decarbonisation services, strengthening customer relationships, and driving strategic commercial initiatives aligned with Singapore's maritime ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Growth & Sales Execution
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Singapore's maritime cluster, including ship management, asset owners, marine finance, technology companies, and charterers.
- Drive sales of DNV Maritime services such as: Class transfers (TOC), newbuild projects, and conversions.
- Decarbonisation advisory, fuel transition assessments, and ESG services.
- Prepare proposals, manage pricing reviews, negotiate contracts, and ensure Salesforce accuracy.
- Meet revenue targets and quarterly pipeline expectations.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Management.
- Maintain and continuously expand strong relationships with Singapore based shipowners, managers, Charterers, P&I clubs, technology partners, and the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
- Support strategic Key Accounts headquartered in Singapore and coordinate globally across DNV regions when required.
- Provide commercial leadership in customer meetings, technical discussions, and opportunity shaping.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by collaborating closely with local Technical Support and Operations teams.
- Market Intelligence & Regulatory Awareness
- Monitor regional market drivers, including developments in MPA regulations, incentives, and sustainability programmes.
- IMO regulatory changes.
- Fleet renewal trends and decarbonisation strategies adopted by Singapore-based companies.
- Analyse competitive activities and translate insights into commercial positioning.
- Represent DNV in Singapore maritime associations, industry events, and thought leadership activities.
- Internal Collaboration & Commercial Strategy.
- Work closely with Maritime Area teams, Global Business Development, and Business Line units to align commercial strategies.
- Promote cross-selling of DNV Maritime Advisory, Digital Solutions, and Classification services.
- Contribute to annual business planning, campaigns, and growth initiatives for Singapore.

Qualifications
- Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Studies, Business, or equivalent.Prior experience in maritime commercial roles (class societies, shipyards, OEMs, marine services, advisory) is preferred. Deep insights of the Container market would be an advantage.
Required Competencies & Skills
- Technical / Industry Competence.Understanding of ship classification, maritime certification, and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with decarbonization pathways, alternative fuels, and digital transformation in shipping.
- Commercial Skills.Proven track record in business development, preferably within maritime, offshore, classification, ship management, or OEM sectors.Strong negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to build senior level relationships and influence decision makers.
