Our client is a Marine Offshore Industry. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for a Key Account Manager to join their team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team. They are located in the West.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary communication link with Customer Center and HQ Sales team, responding promptly to urgent enquiries and handling complaints.
- Drive sales revenue for business in local docking shipyards and site projects within the local branch office.
- Lead the team and serve as a sounding board and sparring partner for fellow key account managers.
- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on operational and client-related matters.
- Liaise with the Logistics Manager and Transport Planner to ensure smooth, complete, and timely deliveries of customer orders.
- Serve as the main point-of-contact for customers, including office staff, vessel crew, and site teams.
- Manage quotations issued by the sales & quotation team.
- Handle itinerary changes and re-routing consequences, offering effective solutions.
- Attend to last-minute customer requests and urgent requirements.
- Source and procure alternative products in the local market when necessary.
- Host and entertain customers during visits to the local office.
Requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in a related field, or equivalent experience/training.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with strong knowledge of the shipping industry and its chain partners.
- Proven track record in client management with excellent commercial and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain personal relationships with shipping lines and/or ship management companies.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
