Job Overview
We are looking for a Junior trader (Non-Ferrous Metals) to manage the end-to-end execution of copper, cobalt, and other commodity trade contracts. The role covers contract compliance, logistics coordination, and trade documentation, ensuring smooth and timely deliveries. Looking ahead, the candidate will also be involved in supporting futures execution, including point-pricing, hedging settlements, and coordination with finance and trading teams to align physical and futures positions. This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced global trading environment with opportunities to grow into broader trade and risk management responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the full tracking and execution of trade contracts for copper, cobalt, and other non-ferrous metals, ensuring strict compliance with contract terms (quality, quantity, delivery time, payment, etc.)
2. Coordinate internal and external resources (procurement, logistics, quality inspection, finance, etc.) to promote contract implementation, and handle unexpected issues during execution (such as delayed delivery, quality disputes, etc.)
3. Review letters of credit, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other documents to ensure compliance and alignment with trade terms
4. Arrange logistics, including bulk shipments, containers, rail, trucks, barges, warehouses, and coordinate the issuance of transportation documents
5. Monitor cargo transportation, customs clearance, warehousing, and other processes to ensure timeliness and cost control of logistics
6. Verify delivery quantities, quality, and pricing (e.g., pricing or point pricing), and coordinate with finance to complete payments and collections
7. Maintain ledgers, records, and data, as well as perform monthly system entries.
8. Assist in the Execution of futures trading related to the phsical contracts, including point pricing, hedging, and settlement coordination with the trading and finance teams.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in International Trade, Logistics Management, or Economics
2. At least 1-3 years of experience in contract execution or trade operations of bulk commodities (copper, aluminum, nickel, or other non-ferrous metals)
3. Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), and skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
4. Strong ability to work under pressure, with good learning and execution skills, and a strong sense of teamwork.
Work Location
Singapore (occasional travel within the Asia-Pacific region).
