Junior Trader (Physical)

Our client, an established global commodities trading firm, is looking for a driven and commercially minded Junior Trader to join its Singapore team. This is an opportunity for someone with early exposure to physical commodities, dry bulk, commercial operations or shipping to develop into a front-office trading role.

Responsibilities:

• Support the trading team in executing physical spot and term transactions
• Monitor market fundamentals, including supply and demand, freight, inventories and price movements
• Build market intelligence across producers, customers, traders, brokers and logistics providers
• Assist with pricing, deal structuring, contract negotiation and trade execution
• Work closely with Operations, Risk, Finance and Shipping teams to ensure smooth deal performance
• Prepare market updates, trading analysis and reports
• Develop relationships with customers and industry counterparties across the region

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies or a related discipline with 3–4 years experience in in physical commodities trading, dry bulk, commercial operations, shipping or a related field
• Strong interest in building a long-term career in physical commodities trading
• Good understanding of commodity markets, trade flows and commercial drivers
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills
• Proactive, resilient and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
