Junior Trader

We are seeking a motivated Junior Crude Trader to join an established energy trading firm. The successful candidate will support the trading of physical and paper crude oil, assist in developing and executing trading strategies, and contribute to optimising profitability while operating within defined risk parameters.

What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for executing and supporting physical and paper crude oil trades, managing trade execution from deal capture through to settlement. This includes monitoring market movements and fundamentals, supporting trading and hedging activities, and working closely with operations, shipping, risk, and finance teams to ensure accurate execution and P&L reporting. You will assist in analysing market opportunities, managing exposure within risk limits, coordinating cargo schedules, and contributing to ongoing performance and market reporting.

What we are looking for:

You should hold a degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline, with 2 years of experience in crude oil trading or a related commercial role within the oil & gas industry. A solid understanding of crude markets, physical cargo flows, and basic freight and refining economics is preferred. Strong analytical and logical thinking skills are essential, along with good communication ability. You should be comfortable working independently while also functioning effectively within a fast-paced trading team.
