About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented Junior Sous Chef to join the team at The Bakery Depot Pte Ltd. As a Junior Sous Chef (Cakes & Pastries), you will play a key role in the operations of our renowned bakery, focusing on the production of high-quality cakes, pastries and other baked goods. This full-time position is based in our Kaki Bukit East Region location.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Head Chef in leading and managing the cake and pastry kitchen team
- Developing and refining recipes for a variety of cakes, pastries and other baked items
- Overseeing the daily production and preparation of all cake and pastry items
- Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and customer satisfaction
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work environment
- Providing training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff
- Collaborating with the wider team to support the overall success of the bakery
What we're looking for
- Formal culinary training and a recognised chef's qualification
- Excellent technical skills in cake and pastry production, including piping, decorating and plating
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- A creative and innovative approach to recipe development and menu planning
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the highest standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team
- A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to contribute to the growth of our bakery
