Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Site Engineer to support the day-to-day execution and coordination of construction works. The role will work closely with subcontractors, Design and Technical teams to monitor site progress, ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications, and support timely project completion.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Design and Technical teams to resolve site constraints and meet construction requirements
- Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFI), Project Technical Documents (PTD), and other technical documentation to support project workflows
- Review and acknowledge permits for subcontractor and own works to ensure compliance with regulatory and project standards
- Participate in daily site coordination meetings with subcontractors and project teams to align on progress and resolve issues
- Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and perform quantity calculations for structural works to support accurate material planning
- Supervise and monitor manpower, subcontractors, and daily site activities to maintain productivity and quality standards
- Monitor construction works against approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost requirements to ensure project adherence
- Maintain inspection records and follow up on inspection requirements from Resident Engineer (RE) and Resident Technical Officer (RTO) to ensure quality control
- Liaise with Design and Technical teams to obtain required construction drawings for accurate execution
- Identify discrepancies in drawings, calculations, and specifications, and coordinate with relevant parties to resolve issues promptly
- Prepare site documentation, progress reports, and preliminary drawings as required to support project tracking and communication
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents for accurate site execution
- Problem-solving skills applied to identify and resolve site and design issues effectively
- Organisational skills to manage multiple site activities and documentation efficiently
- Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and subcontractors effectively
- Willingness to work in a site-based environment to support hands-on project execution
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 2-3 years of relevant construction site experience to contribute practical knowledge
- Experience in structural or civil construction works for better understanding of site processes
- Familiarity with BBS, quantity calculations, RFI, and PTD processes to support technical documentation
- Familiarity with construction permits and site inspection documentation to ensure compliance
- Knowledge of relevant Singapore construction safety requirements to promote safe work practices
- Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSS) certification to enhance safety competency
