Job Summary
Design and develop mechanical jigs, fixtures, and automation machinery by leading end-to-end engineering processes from conceptualization to manufacturing, ensuring technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Design jigs and fixtures tailored to fabrication, assembly, and maintenance requirements to optimize production efficiency
- Conduct research and development to innovate and improve current and new product designs
- Generate detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) aligned with applicable standards to support manufacturing and assembly
- Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and data to evaluate feasibility, cost implications, and maintenance needs
- Specify system components to ensure designs meet engineering performance and quality standards
- Develop conceptual designs and mechanisms based on comprehensive understanding of design requirements
- Prepare manufacturing drawings to facilitate accurate and efficient production processes
- Collaborate closely with production teams during design and production stages to ensure seamless transition and resolve technical challenges
- Interface with customers to discuss technical aspects and incorporate feedback into design improvements
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or machine design, with demonstrated ability to deliver complex engineering solutions
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE software such as SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD to produce precise engineering models and drawings
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including design fundamentals, machine elements, and fabrication techniques
- Ability to work independently and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment
