Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Security Engineer to support the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of cybersecurity controls across Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoints, and cloud environments. The role will assist senior security engineers in protecting company and client systems from threats, ensuring compliance, and responding to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel and Defender to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Perform basic threat analysis and escalate security incidents to senior engineers for timely resolution
• Assist in incident response activities including containment, investigation, and documentation to minimize impact
• Support security configuration and hardening of Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and endpoint environments to strengthen defenses
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and assist in remediation efforts to reduce security risks
• Monitor identity security controls including Entra ID, conditional access policies, and multi-factor authentication to safeguard access
• Assist in onboarding servers, endpoints, and workloads into security platforms to ensure comprehensive coverage
• Support deployment of security policies, baseline configurations, and system hardening to maintain compliance
• Maintain and update security documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy and accessibility
• Assist with ISO 27001 compliance activities, security audits, and governance tracking to uphold regulatory standards
• Support risk assessments and security reviews to identify and mitigate organizational risks
• Maintain asset and security inventory records to ensure accurate tracking of security posture
• Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and Microsoft security updates to enhance defense strategies
• Participate in security training, labs, and certification programs to continuously develop technical expertise

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• SC-900: Microsoft Security Fundamentals certification
• AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals certification
• Security+ or CEH (entry level) certifications
• Internship experience in security or IT support environments
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID (Azure AD), and vulnerability scanning tools
