Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

The Junior Electrical Quantity Surveyor will support the full spectrum of M&E (Electrical‑focused) quantity surveying and contract administration activities from tender stage to project completion. This role is ideal for candidates who are building their QS career and seeking hands‑on exposure to electrical projects within Singapore's construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract & Sub‑Contract Administration

• Assist in preparing and administering contracts and sub‑contracts.

• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and verify subcontractor/supplier claims .

• Support final account preparation and documentation.

2. Quantity Surveying (Electrical Focus)

• Perform quantity take‑offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ) for electrical works .

• Review tender documents, contract terms, and technical specifications.

• Source, evaluate, and recommend suppliers/subcontractors for M&E disciplines.

3. Costing & Budget Control

• Assist in preparing project budgets and monitoring cost control to ensure alignment with allocated budgets .

• Prepare cost comparison sheets and support procurement evaluation.

4. Variation & Progress Payment Support

• Review variation requests and assess cost impacts .

• Support processing of progress payments and final account closure.

5. Project Coordination & Communication

• Work closely with the Project Team to provide costing and contractual support during tender, construction, and final account stages .

• Liaise professionally with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

6. Procurement & Negotiation

• Evaluate quotations and prepare award recommendations.

• Support price negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors.

7. Monthly Reporting

• Prepare monthly progress claims, variation summaries, and payment certifications for suppliers/subcontractors
