Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer with a background in Cisco technologies to design, maintain, and secure network infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate across teams to support business operations and growth.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and robust security
- Monitor and analyze network performance to identify vulnerabilities and implement improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network systems with applications
- Plan and execute network maintenance, including software/hardware updates, patches, and security protocols
- Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs
- Develop and update comprehensive network documentation and diagrams
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide network support outside regular business hours
Required competencies and certifications
- Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
- Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and OSPF
- Familiarity with network security concepts including VPNs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS
- Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies and skills
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Cisco certifications (considered a plus)
- Fresh graduate or 1+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
