Junior Medical Laboratory Technologist

Brief Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Medical Laboratory Technologist to contribute to our dynamic laboratory team. This role involves performing essential laboratory operations and ensuring accurate diagnostic results for effective patient management.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients using techniques such as venipuncture, capillary collection, and heel pricks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Conduct clinical laboratory tests including urinalysis, haematology, and biochemistry independently. Verify and validate test results, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Ensure proper documentation for specimen handling in accordance with good laboratory practices. Maintain equipment in optimal working condition and oversee necessary maintenance. Prepare equipment, analyzers, reagents, and controls as needed for laboratory tests. Perform and document Internal and External Quality Controls according to established protocols. Adhere to workplace safety standards and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• Recognized Diploma in Medical Technology or a related science field. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment or relevant phlebotomy experience. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
