Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior engineers in the development, testing, and modification of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
  • Support system installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities at the factory and site.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including SOPs, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, test records, and software backup/configuration files.
  • Ensure assigned work is carried out in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, workplace safety regulations, and cybersecurity policies.
  • Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to support project execution and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Higher Nitec / Nitec in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience or internship exposure in PLC, HMI, or SCADA systems.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC, HMI, or SCADA programming and industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, I/O signals, and control panels is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn, work on-site, and support testing and commissioning activities.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Exposure to Siemens PLC / HMI / SCADA systems is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, BACnet, or OPC is preferred.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in control systems, field devices, and networked automation systems.
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate technical documentation.

Soft Skills:

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work under guidance and follow project schedules and site requirements.

Language:

  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • The ability to communicate in Chinese is an advantage.

Work Environment:

  • Work will be carried out in both office and industrial plant/site environments.
  • Travel within Singapore may be required for installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • This role is based in Singapore.
