Job Description
Key responsibilities and expectations
- Support the Regional VP and senior business development team in executing account and territory strategies.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, inbound leads, networking, and other channels.
- Research target companies and build qualified prospect lists based on defined customer profiles and screening criteria.
- Conduct initial outreach to prospective customers through email, phone, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on customer needs, business potential, and defined qualification criteria.
- Manage qualified leads through the early stages of the sales funnel and ensure timely follow-up.
- Schedule and support discovery calls, product demonstrations, and meetings with prospective customers.
- Develop a strong understanding of our products and effectively communicate their value to prospective clients.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with prospects and existing customers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and prospect information in Pipedrive CRM.
- Ensure consistent CRM hygiene by recording sales activities, updating opportunities, and maintaining accurate pipeline information.
- Track pipeline activity, lead conversion, engagement, and other relevant sales KPIs.
- Support the preparation of regular pipeline reports, sales updates, and forecasts.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success, Finance, Operations, and Product teams to ensure a smooth customer onboarding and handover process.
- Work closely with senior Business Development team members to progress qualified opportunities toward closure.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer requirements and share relevant insights with the team.
- Gather feedback from prospects and customers and communicate valuable insights to the Product and Customer Success teams.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer and prospect communications.
- Maintain a consultative approach when engaging with prospects, focusing on understanding their business needs and identifying suitable solutions.
- Consistently work toward agreed business development, pipeline, and revenue targets.
- Perform other business development activities as required to support overall company growth.
Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management, Inside Sales, or a related commercial role.
- Proven experience in lead generation, prospecting, and managing sales opportunities.
- Strong customer-focused approach with the ability to understand customer needs and identify appropriate solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of the sales process.
- Ability to conduct professional conversations with customers and prospects at different levels.
- Experience working with a CRM system; Pipedrive experience is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Willingness to learn and develop strong knowledge of the company's products and services.
- Previous experience in B2B sales, SaaS, technology, maritime, logistics, or a related industry would be an advantage.
- Experience working with agents/distributors or indirect sales channels is an advantage.
