Job Description:

Looking for a Java Application Developer / Software Engineer to support and enhance the enterprise web applications/system. The role involves working on system analysis, contributing to system enhancements, troubleshooting, testing, and ensure stable and secure system operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform system analysis and requirements study, translating functional and technical requirements into application design and program specifications.

Design, develop, test, and implement system enhancements, upgrades, and bug fixes to support ongoing application maintenance and continuous improvements.

Develop and maintain high-quality, secure application code in accordance with coding standards, secure coding practices, and development best practices.

Develop and execute unit tests, support integration testing, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.

Support system implementation and deployment to ensure smooth transition into the production environment.

Investigate and resolve reported system issues, defects, and errors, including performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Address security vulnerabilities identified during web application vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

Manage application configuration, version control, documentation, and collaborate with teams through support and project activities to ensure system quality and stability

Qualification

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience in Java application development using J2EE technologies such as Java, JSP, EJB and JDBC. familiarity with enterprise reporting tools, such as JReports.

Working knowledge of Hibernate or equivalent ORM frameworks, familiarity with server-side MVC frameworks, such as Apache Struts or Spring Boot or similar frameworks.

Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and application security coding practices, standards, including awareness of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.

Experience participating in at least 1 web application development project involving MVC architecture and ORM frameworks.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting enterprise or web-based application systems.

Familiarity with application security remediation, including resolving addressing findings from vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

Experience using source code version control tools (e.g., StarTeam, Git, SVN, or similar).

25 years of experience in Java web application development or application support within enterprise environment
