Job Summary

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions using modern frameworks and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications to meet business requirements
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot for efficient system integration
• Develop high-performance, secure, and reusable backend components to support application scalability
• Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code to facilitate future development and maintenance
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to improve performance and reliability
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery
• Ensure adherence to application performance, scalability, and security best practices throughout development

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong programming experience with Java 8/11/17
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot framework
• Experience in developing microservices architecture
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API development
• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security
• Good knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Git version control system
• Familiarity with Maven or Gradle build tools
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodology

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• Domain experience in banking or financial services
