IT System Engineer

Job:

You have hands-on experience in either Windows or Linux environments to support, maintain, and enhance our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for system operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms.

Role:

. Provide administration and support for Windows or Linux servers in an enterprise environment

. Perform system installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades

. Monitor system health, performance, and security

. Troubleshoot system issues and resolve incidents in a timely manner

. Support Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 operations, including escalation handling

. Implement automation and scripting for operational efficiency

. Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configurations

. Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure system stability and availability

. Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotation when required

Requirements:

. Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

. Minimum 1 to 5 years of relevant experience (depending on Day 1 / Day 2 / Day 3 level).

. Professional certifications (e.g. MCSA, RHCSA, or equivalent) are an advantage.

. Candidates should have experience in either Windows or Linux systems:

o Windows Skill Set: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Patch management and system hardening, PowerShell scripting, Backup and recovery solutions

o Linux Skill Set: Red Hat/CentOS /Ubuntu administration, User and permission management, Shell scripting (Bash), System performance tuning and troubleshooting, Package management and patching

. Experience with virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V / KVM).

. Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, Zabbix, SCOM, Prometheus).

. Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions.

. Understanding of security best practices (firewalls, access control, hardening).

. Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar) is an advantage.

. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

. Good communication and documentation skills.

. Able to work independently and as part of a team.

. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

. This role will need to secure a clearance, due to the sensitivity of the project.
