Role DescriptionAn IT Support Officer provides technical support to ensure the smooth operation of an organization's IT systems. This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, assisting end-users, and maintaining IT infrastructure. The IT Support Officer plays a key role in minimizing downtime, improving system efficiency, and supporting employees in using technology effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve IT support requests from employees or clients via helpdesk, email, or phone.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and peripheral device issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software applications, and network equipment.
- Monitor IT systems performance and assist in implementing updates and patches.
- Provide guidance and training to users on IT systems and best practices.
- Maintain documentation for IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations.
- Assist in IT projects, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are followed.
Qualifications- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking, and office software.
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are an advantage.
