Job Summary
As an IT Support Engineer you would be providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintenance for hardware, software, and network systems to ensure operational stability.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults to maintain system reliability and minimize downtime
- Deliver 1st and 2nd line technical support by applying knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP to troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Monitor system performance proactively, manage backups, and apply system updates to ensure continuous operational stability
- Onboard new users by configuring workstations and delivering training on Windows and macOS environments to enhance user productivity
- Support network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VPN connectivity, firewalls, and implement security patches to safeguard IT assets
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and document technical procedures and knowledge base articles to facilitate team knowledge sharing
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and patiently to non-technical users, ensuring customer-focused support and issue resolution
- Adapt work schedule flexibly to provide support outside regular hours as required to carry out installations and maintain service continuity
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 3 to 4 years of prior experience in IT support roles
- Education: ITE diploma or Computer Science degree
- A curious and inquisitive mind with interest in troubleshooting and identifying root cause to issues
- Certifications considered advantageous: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- Technical proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and core networking concepts
- Knowledge of CCTV installation, refrigeration would be an advantage
